I’m a Rebel, born south of the Mason Dixon line, where my family’s loyalties were with the north, talk about a recipe for rebellion! That set the stage for my personality from the start! Being the only green eyed, auburn haired person in a family of blue eyed blondes, just reaffirmed that!
And of course being an Aquarian set the stage for me, the person who always thought and felt differently from the rest of my family!
From an early age I was a dreamer and creative with the use of my hands. My affinity for animals helped me to cope with being a very different personality from the rest of my family. I began riding horses competitively and found that I was very successful when allowed to follow my heart. When everyone else was serious and focussed, I was dancing in the rain and singing at the top of my lungs! Life always held mystery and wonder for me! My imagination from early on was very active and drove me to do things that were often seen as a little eccentric!
I attended an all girls private school, which felt very constricting. When finally allowed to makemy own decisions about my future, after graduation, I chose to attend a design school in Paris. The abundance of art, architecture and history sparked my next creative journey!
I worked in a divergent number of occupations and enjoyed meeting many different people.I tried to become the best at what I did before moving on to my next endeavor, and took classes to become certified in whatever my current job was. I was certified as a Chiropractic assistant, a Physical Therapy assistant, A Billing and Coding specialist working for several different Doctors, and then even went to school for a Microsoft Certification. But none of those occupations gave me the joy I was always searching for.
I was shy and not the most outgoing type, so I spent a lot of time observing and mentally and psychologically dissecting people. I found people fascinating on a different level, and enjoyed documenting their life stories. But, my real outlet was my art. I enjoyed painting, sketching, carving and sculpting and found using my hands an almost spiritual experience.
After raising a family of three sons and a daughter, and achieving my second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, I concentrated on my passion of art. I even took a throwing pottery course to add to my artistic experiences. But as time flew by, and my hands didn’t work to the same degree any more, I tried writing as my next creative outlet. And, here I am at the young age of 71, embellishing all of my life’s journeys on paper, and painting a colorful story with words to hopefully entertain others!
Life has so many twists and turns, but they all lead to where we are supposed to be! I am still a dreamer and eternal optimist! I plan on living life to the fullest, because when we stop living in wonder, we may as well just stop living!
